The Dialog Information Technologies company completed system implementation "1C: Accounting 8" at shipbuilding plant "Severnaya Verf" in St. Petersburg.

The production cycle, need of carrying out developmental works, implementation of export transactions, work with a large number (hundreds of thousands) of nomenclature positions of inventory stocks are characteristic of the ship-building industry long (up to 5 years). All these features needed to be considered at automation of accounting and tax accounting.

For this purpose it was necessary to implement in a system accounting of the entrance VAT (with different tax regimes of products), accounting of the VAT when implementing products for export, calculation of income tax taking into account a long production cycle, accounting of inventory items in processing and also formation of complete cost value taking into account job order production and a long production cycle. Formation of tax registers was decided to perform in parallel with accounting data. Besides, the company needed to complement a system with a set of the additional reporting connected with specifics of the industry. The external system of accounting acted as a source of information on inventory items.

The project lasted from October, 2006 to November, 2007, and was separated into three stages. Automation of accounting and tax accounting, with a possibility of formation of the regulated reporting, took only two months, and since January, 2007 the company began to keep all accounting in a new system. Then accounting of inventory items and cost accounting of products were automated. The most part of problems managed to be solved with the help of standard functionality of a system, and the main completions of a system concerned specifics of accounting of the customer. In total 40 jobs were automated.

According to project participants, separation of the project into small local stages, with simultaneous conducting works on several different directions, allowed to accelerate significantly start of a system in operation. In the course of system implementation at the enterprise there was a redistribution of functions between accountant officers, IT service and economical department. All this promoted reduction of labor costs on some sections of accounting.
