2020: Face recognition system implementation

On September 21, 2020 it became known that TsRT Group implemented the biometric system of face recognition in the body of Institute of trade and the service industry of SFU in Krasnoyarsk. System implementation of face recognition is implemented as a part of the large-scale campus project. SFU is included into the first five of campus projects of Russia, and the system of face recognition from group of CST became one of the first systems working as a part of the campus project in the country.

Face recognition allows to provide contactless pass. Experience can be scaled on more than 50 universities. The implemented project shows readiness of group of CST for implementation of other cases, including — to application of a system of face recognition when holding remote examinations.

The input in Trade and economic institute of SFU is equipped with the system of face recognition using artificial intelligence and computer vision. The Vizier system performs detecting and identification of the visitors passing through a tourniquet. When the person comes into the view of the camera, a biometric system makes a cycle of mathematical processings during which of a video flow the image is taken, then is coded in the biometric template containing unique characteristics of the person. Then this template is verified with base of persons, access to which is resolved, and at compliance the tourniquet opens. So access is provided to strictly certain audience.

We pay a lot of attention to service support of our activity and digitalization – creation of Smart Campus, in this case, is not only a trend, but also the basis for increase in efficiency. The so-called campus project is a part of this activity. Considering a property complex which we own the campus project and its further scaling — extremely relevant task — the rector of SFU Maxim Rumyantsev noted. – For September, 2020 we completed installation of equipment on the platform of one of our institutes and started formation of the database. We expect to finish fully testing within a year.

Implementation of our system of face recognition as a part of the campus project can become the beginning of implementation of campus projects across all Siberian region and through the whole country, at the same time not only in already implemented case, but also others, especially relevant: holding remote examinations, remote protection of qualification works.
