The library of the Siberian scientific research institute of poultry farming is automated by the solution on the 1C Platform

Integrator "1C: The first BIT" completed automation of the public scientific institution "Siberian Research Institute of Poultry Farming of the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences", the press service of the company reported on January 11, 2013. As the technological solution software " is used by 1C: library.PROF ".

Project Goals and Objectives

Full information support of scientific activity at institute is performed by library. As a part of its fund more than 10 thousand copies of scientific and reference books, regular replenishment is conducted by new works and periodicals.

Before for management of library the self-written product created on the basis of the MS Excel was used. Over time the program ceased to cope with an escalating flow of the obtained data, many transactions had to be executed manually. Risks of loss of valuable objects of library stock increased, there were difficulties taking into account the movement of literature.

The management made the decision on creation of a new information system which would allow to optimize management of library. Organization asked for the help in the choice of an optimal product specialists of the company "1C: The first BIT" which suggested to apply the solution "1C: library.PROF ".

Solution

During implementation by 1C specialists: The first BIT installation, installation and setup of the program is made, user training is provided. In a project deliverable workflows of library are optimized. There was an opportunity to keep account of library stocks depending on their appointment, type and structure. Processes of completing, cataloguing, accounting, updating and storage of fund, service of readers are completely automated.

Result

Many routine transactions are reduced, labor productivity of employees increased. Significantly processes of accounting of the movement of objects of fund became simpler. Cases of loss of scientific literature are excluded. In general, the effective management of library increased.
