2023: Distribution Center Management with "1C: Trade Management"

Khabarovsk office IT-integrator First Bit"" helped the company, SIMOST"" large, to construction to the retailer Sakhalin Oblast improve the management of the distribution center. Transparency increased, warehousing the efficiency of the use of premises increased, the assembly of orders accelerated. This was announced on July 17, 2023 by the First Bit company.

The SIMOST distribution center is four warehouses with a total area of more than 12.5 thousand square meters. m., which store more than 35 thousand commodity items. Inventory accounting together with trade contours is maintained in the 1C: Trade Management system. Keeping the item in bins did not match the actual location of the items in the warehouse. The company did not manage the remnants optimally, and there was constantly not enough space.

The company wanted to implement a full-fledged WMS system, but this turned out to be impossible. To build the necessary processes and regulations, data was needed for analysis, and it was impossible to collect them in the current system. A compromise solution was chosen - to implement address storage based on a familiar 1S:UT. Basically, the project was launched in order to get away from the virtual division of goods in warehouse accounting and get the correct data on the use of storage areas (filling of storage bins and zones). With this data, it would be possible to fully prepare for the implementation of WMS (separate warehouse management system).

The First Bit team proposed to separate trade and warehouse accounting, allocating a separate information base "1C: Trade Management" for employees of the distribution center. An event exchange had to be set up between the two systems. They decided to involve an external contractor in the project - the Vek Information Technologies company, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. The specialists of this company were well acquainted with the customer's IT landscape and were already solving similar problems. The Khabarovsk First Bit team worked remotely. As a result, the First Bit was responsible for process survey, modeling and design, functional refinements of the 1S:UT and normalization of the NSI. The "Age of Information Technologies," in turn, implemented an event exchange and a workplace for processing returns of goods from buyers. Integrators worked together to put into operation and support users.

Summing up the results of the project, I want to note that all the tasks set were solved. The system is implemented. Oddly enough, the main complexity of the project was not warehouse processes, but related processes that surfaced during implementation. We have undermined a large layer of problems and tasks that we will solve for several more months,
noted Dmitry Makarov, Chief information officer of the BAEK Group of Companies.

As a result, the retailer has a working address storage of goods in cells. Virtual division of goods by areas of activity is excluded: now the direction of activity is determined in the process of data exchange. The exchange itself turned out to be fast and stable, with an average data transfer time between the warehouse and trading 1S:UT of 8.5 seconds. The SIMOSTA distribution center automated the determination of the target storage warehouse during the movement of goods within the RC, the creation of expense orders and the receipt of returns of goods from customers.
