Sky Link completed upgrade of a package core in Moscow

The Sky Link mobile operator completed in June, 2011 upgrade of a node of service of packet data transmission (PDSN – Packet Data Serving Node) and migration of traffic of data services on the intellectual Cisco ASR 5000 platform in the Moscow region. The project which for the first time in Russia will allow the operator to perform advanced functionality on filtering, distribution, prioritizing and traffic management and service quality (QoS) is implemented by the joint team of specialists Sky Link, Cisco and SPM companies which acted as the system integrator of the project.

Support of different technologies of access of functions of a node of data transmission of PDSN for 3G networks built on CDMA technology (including EVDO Rev.A/Rev.B) and also support of functions of nodes of a package core for networks 2G/3G (SGSN and GGSN functions) and LTE network (a full support of the MME, SGW and PGW functions) jointly with the built-in service functions (the deep analysis and traffic management, optimization of transport protocols, etc.) will give to the operator of a possibility of detailed control, flexible tariffing and management of subscriber sessions that, in turn, will allow to develop existing and to implement the new personalized services with the minimum extension costs of the network infrastructure ready to implementation of LTE.
