Spartak selected a cloud platform of Ngenix for support of online broadcasts of after match press conferences and friendly matches

2020: Implementation of a cloud platform of Ngenix

On October 16, 2020 the NGENIX company, the Russian provider of cloud services for acceleration and protection of web resources, provided the distributed cloud platform for support of the updated web resource of FC Spartak. By means of the product NGENIX Edge Video Delivery delivery of video content - broadcasts of friendly matches and after match press conferences of club is performed. The product NGENIX Edge Security & Acceleration helps to accelerate work of the website thanks to optimization of delivery of static content and more effectively to use IT infrastructure even in the conditions of the raised loading.

According to the company, an IT command of FC Spartak the solution capable to sustain considerable inflow of appeals to video content and not having scaling restrictions that fans of the Russian soccer could monitor events of FC Spartak in proper quality was required, without facing "podtormazhivaniye" and buffering of video.

The NGENIX platform with a general capacity more than 2 Tbit / with includes 40 nodes in the territory of the Russian Federation, the CIS and a number of the countries of Europe; existence of a set of points of presence allows to use computing powers on network edge closer to a request source - it reduces a delay time on delivery of video and positively affects the speed and transmission quality of video. FC Spartak has an opportunity to connect additional resources of the platform on demand to cope with the peaks of attendance during the important sports events.

Within the project for FC Spartak additional functionality was also implemented:

• Publication and conversion of a video flow: admitting a video flow to RTMP, the NGENIX platform will transform it to the HLS format supported by modern browsers and players and also converts in 1080p video flows from the cameras transmitting a signal in format 1080i;
• Adaptive broadcasting: gives the chance to manage quality of broadcasting depending on connection speed, if necessary reducing the bitrate of video (transcoding) — it reduces load of IT infrastructure and provides the continuity of video transmission even at decline in quality of an extramarital affair of the viewer;
• Republication of video content in social networks: the platform performs a transkoding of content and transfers him to players of VKontakte, Facebook, Youtube and Odnoklassniki;
• DVR function implementation: the last 2 hours of forward translations are stored in the cloud storage on the NGENIX platform and are available to placement on the website of FC Spartak in the section of Live Archive.

We want to provide to fans of soccer proper quality of broadcastings and at the same time without problems to cope with influx of the audience on our website during the most important moments of life of Spartak. During the after match press conferences the number of appeals to the website increases on average three times, and the NGENIX platform thanks to the capacity and a distributed infrastructure helps us to avoid problems of scaling and to provide video broadcasting on the Internet wherever there was a viewer.
