Sportmaster Group upgrades a corporate portal on the basis of the solution of Oracle

The FORS company put into production operation a corporate portal of new generation on the Oracle WebCenter platform in Sportmaster Group.

Start

Before start of the project by the customer the corporate portal which is independently developed by the company was used. However over time it ceased to meet the growing corporate requirements, implementation of new features - impossible within the existing system was necessary. The customer made the choice for benefit of Oracle WebCenter Suite. It allowed to create essentially other communication environment.

Job

At 1 stage (from August to October, 2011) examination, preparation of technical specifications, development and delivery of a pilot project with introduction of a part of content and implementation of the main functionality was conducted. At the 2nd stage (November-December) almost all functionality of the portal was created, and a system was put into trial operation. In addition to the mentioned works, at the first two stages specialists of FORS developed an essential part of design of the portal. At the final stage which proceeded until the end of March there was a completion of documentation, functionality of the portal and its content according to additional requirements of the customer, user training was provided. The subsequent time the portal continuously developed taking into account the customer's wishes, its structure became complicated, new features were added. Complete replacement of the old portal on new became a project deliverable. In total more than 1700 web pages of content were transferred, and now can use the portal up to 2 thousand users at the same time (the total quantity of users approaches 20,000).

Result

A system provides online access of employees to all array of corporate information, including news with a possibility of their publication not IT specialists, documents, static sections, archive, a photo gallery, the phonebook. A number of services – information and interactive exchange of staff of the company among themselves and with control structures, a congratulation on memorials in the form of greeting cards, registration of different types of requests, holding polls and creation of different forms of a feedback is implemented. Users received the convenient mechanism for the centralized and structured search in all portal resources and its specific sections. At the same time the portal supports geographically distributed structure of the customer already now.
