On February 18, 2015 it became known of the project of upgrade of a local computer network at Sredneuralskiy Copper Smelter. The project of upgrade was implemented by Urals Integration company.
Project Tasks
Upgrade of IT infrastructure, updating of components of a core of network, increase in number of ports was required for Sredneuralskiy Copper Smelter in connection with growth of loading.

Project Progress
Using solutions of Cisco the local computer network (LCN) is created. During upgrade of IT infrastructure it was required to minimize a downtime of a LAN at migration on the new equipment, to transfer routing of traffic to a LAN from different devices on the new switch of a core.
For the solution of assigned tasks specialists of Urals Integration company performed works:
- data collection about existing a LAN;
- preparation of technical solution on the upgraded segment
- creation of the plan of migration for a new core of a LAN;
- setup of the equipment according to technical solution;
- migration on the new equipment of a core of a LAN;
- carrying out acceptance tests of a LAN.
The core of network is provided by the Cisco switch Catalyst 6500.
Project Results
"In December, 2014 together with "the Urals Integration" we successfully completed the project on replacement of the equipment of a core of network by the Cisco switch Catalyst 6500 — Andrey Nikolaevich Berezin, the chief of the ACS center and communication of JSC Sredneuralskiy Copper Smelter noted. — As a result we increased data transfer rate in separate network segments by 10 times, achieved considerable acceleration of work of network applications, prepared network infrastructure for implementation of new high-speed applications and services. Thanks to harmonious work of all participants of process and high professionalism of specialists "Integration" we could observe the Urals the project in most short time with the minimum influence on network functioning of data transmission of the enterprise".
