The St. Petersburg data-processing center implements an eventing system of information security

On October 3, 2013 the Informzashita company announced the final of the project of creation of an automated system of processing and correlation of events of information security in the St. Petersburg data-processing center.

The platform for creation of an automated system of processing and correlation of events of information security in the St. Petersburg data-processing center - the HP solution of ArcSight.

"Difficult IT infrastructure forced us to meet certain difficulties during the work with cybersecurity events earlier — Alexander Glukhov, the deputy chief of department of security of the Russian Railway noted. — Identification of incidents was followed by handmade abundance, and investigation often happened already upon an accomplished fact. The joint project with Informzashita allowed not only to automate work with incidents, but also to increase the level of security of the automated information telecommunication systems in the region of responsibility of the data processing center (DPC) of the St. Petersburg data-processing center. Already now we can list several prevented incidents which could not be revealed earlier".

Information complex of the Russian Railway includes 64 mainframes, more than 300 corporate servers, more than 200 thousand PCs. Its part - the St. Petersburg data-processing center. The big importance was represented by the choice of the platform for creation of a system. The built-in product capabilities of HP ArcSight allowed to carry out to short terms integration with 13 information systems and information security systems of the St. Petersburg data-processing center.

"We completed really large-scale project — Alexander Zenkovsky, the director of the department of work with energy industry of Informzashita company emphasized. — There is a wish to note separately active participation of staff of the Russian Railway at all stages of project implementation. It is important to understand that the big functionality of the implemented solution would be useless if not high professionalism of colleagues. As confirmation to it serves effective and pro-active work with incidents of information security which is conducted in the Russian Railway today".
