Content

On April 1, 2014 the Cisco Systems company announced the project of creation at the Maryinsky Theater of a single system of communications.

Project Tasks

The project of construction of a new stage of theater began in 2003. Cisco company together with project organization "CB of high-rise and underground constructions" developed the uniform IT infrastructure implemented on the basis of the most modern solutions and meeting all requirements of modern theater as complex system of communications.

Project Progress

"In this project modern complete approach to creation of IT infrastructure of the enterprise is used — Mikhail Safronov, the Cisco system engineer noted. — In it several subsystems, including a data network, an Internet node, a data processing center, the system of unified communications, the system of digital signs and the system of the virtualized jobs. All IT services use IP transport over a single network of data transmission. As a result modern, easy-to-work, flexible and well scalable IT infrastructure which meets the current requirements and can be easily adapted for satisfaction of new IT requirements of theater turned out".
"The solution Cisco allowed us to receive a single system, the including local network and access facilities in the Internet and also the server hardware, solutions in the field of telephony, video conferences and thin clients — Evgeny Barbashin, the head of department of computer technologies of the Maryinsky Theater told. — In the server solutions proposed by Cisco we were attracted by their maximum flexibility, a combination of reliability and convenience of management thanks to which we can easily support and develop a system. Modern opportunities of a video equipment of Cisco allow us to use flexibly the screens located in premises. So, during the day we can show on them information and image rollers, to do broadcastings from a scene in the evening and also to browse satellite and broadcasting TV channels".

In 2010 the Integrated Engineering Systems company together with Cisco completed the pilot project including key components of future solution — the model of a data network and the IP telephony system.

"We aimed using solutions of one producer — to integrate Cisco into a single system the maximum number of different engineering subsystems for the purpose of obtaining the flexible structure managed from one center and for some rules" — Vadim Avdokhin, the technical director of the company "The integrated engineering systems" emphasized.

After adoption of results of tests by the customer, company Cisco and its partners: Stroyelektromontazh No. 5 companies, "Integrated engineering systems", "Jet Infosystems" — supplied and mounted the equipment of all IT infrastructure.

Project Results

The infrastructure created on the platform of the equipment Cisco includes the data network (DN), a wireless network (Wi-fi), the IP telephony system, the server hardware (UCS), the system of digital signs (DMS), thin clients and the VIDEOCONFERENCING equipment.

Feature of the solution in close integration of components of one producer, in flexible scaling of a system in the future and easy administration. The works in the project are completed in April, 2013. On May 2, 2013 its IT infrastructure is completely ready to opening of theater.
