2024: Plan for six walking electric ships

The Emperium company will hand over six walking electric ships of the Moscow 2.0 ships in 2026 under a contract concluded with the State Transport Leasing Company (GTLK), and for October 2024 distributes the order to its production facilities. Thus, four vessels will be built at the company's shipyard in Otradny, Leningrad Region, and 2 at the shipyard in Perm. The vessels will be laid down in the first half of 2025. Sitronics announced this on October 3, 2024.

For the Perm shipyard "Moscow 2.0" will be the first project for the construction of pleasure electric ships. The vessels will be fully produced by Perm shipbuilders in the region from the additional stage to the delivery stage, that is, from metal processing and welding of sections of ship hulls to their tests before being handed over to the customer on water.

The decision to transfer the construction of part of the electric ships from the party of the Perm shipyard is associated with several factors, said the general director of the enterprise Nikolai Malukhin.

As of October 2024, we are fulfilling orders for the construction of mooring complexes for electric ships in Moscow, ordinary mooring complexes for the region are in operation. In 2024, we must also begin the formation of sections of the hull of the hotel-type Baikal cruise electric ship. At the same time, the capacity of the shipyard allows you to take several more projects into implementation. This will allow the Emperium shipyard in the Leningrad region to unload its slipways and take new orders. We plan to lay both electric ships of the Moscow 2.0 model in the first half of 2025, and hand over to navigation in 2026, "said the head of the Perm Shipyard.

Moscow 2.0 is a model of electric ships developed by its own design bureau of the private shipbuilding enterprise Emperium (part of the Sitronics Group). The construction of the first vessel of the project was started in 2024. In fact, this is a modernized electric version of the motor ship "Moscow" R-51, which in Soviet times became a successful project and was presented in many cities of the country. The dimensions of the electric vessel are 33.3 m in length and eight in width. The project involves the presence of a bar, restaurant, business hall, an open upper deck with a canopy, modern inclined glazing of the cabin. The main difference from the ship is the electric motor. The total capacity of the vessel will be 130 passengers, and the cruising speed is 20 km/h.

The transfer of the construction of two electric ships to the Perm shipyard does not imply changes in the existing project, Nikolai Malukhin noted. In addition, he added that thanks to the investments of Sitronics Group, the company is modernizing production facilities - the construction of a new boiler house, the design of new premises and structures.

GTLK implements the contract for the construction of electric ships using the funds of the National Welfare Fund (NWF) in pursuance of the order of the President of the Russian Federation to renew the civil fleet of Russia. It is planned that all electric power will be transferred to the customer by July 2026.
