Advertizing "Svet zdravia", (2014)
The Slovak hospitals pay much attention to the treatment value therefore all of us are more focused on implementation of innovations which can help oncologists to select optimal methods of treatment of patients. In our opinion, cognitive calculations will play more and more significant role in medicine, and we want to be in vanguard of implementation of such technologies in clinical practice. Lubos Lopatka, CEO of network of hospitals "Svet Zdravia" |
Possibilities of cognitive calculations will help to reduce information load of doctors when choosing an evidence-based method of treatment. Besides, such technologies will allow to use larger, than earlier, amounts of data to choose the most optimal technique of treatment for patients. Matya Adam, director of division of IBM Watson Health |
Watson for Oncology will supplement knowledge of the Slovak doctors of network of hospitals "Svet zdravia", but at the same time doctors will continue to play a key role in decision making, connected with treatment. At first Watson for Oncology will be used in cases of delivery of health care at breast cancer, a colorectal cancer, lung cancer, stomach cancer, ovarian cancer and cervical cancer. In the future the solution will help to fight also against other types of oncological diseases.
Any doctor is not able to keep track of all results of the last clinical trials of any types of cancer as the volume of new data promptly increases. In the conditions of such information load of the doctor sometimes doubt whether the selected treatment type approaches. This innovation approach will allow oncologists to reveal the most optimal evidence-based methods of treatment of patients and to consider personal features of each patient.
