Sviaz-Bank (Circuit)

In September, 2004 specialists of Intersoft Lab company successfully completed the Data warehouse implementation project Circuit of Corporation and the "Main Reporting under RPBU" applications in JSC JSB Svyaz-bank.

Description

The delivery agreement and system implementation Circuit of Corporation was signed at the end of February, 2004. A project objective — ensuring consolidation of financial information for preparation of the summary reporting, control and management of activity of branches. For bank with a big branch network — 29 branches located in different regions of the country — this task had special relevance.

Project works were begun in March, 2004. At the first stage project participants should provide integration of the Circuit Corporation system into the core banking system MIM-Bank (productions of the company MIM Technology) set in bank branches and also into the core banking system of Head bank. For the solution of this task the staff of Intersoft Lab company reported an album of universal formats of the XML files used for data loading in Circuit Corporation Storage to bank. Development of modules of unloading of data from two automated banking systems took about one month specialists of Directorate of information technologies of bank. Testing of modules of unloading of data took place within two weeks. It was carried out at specially prepared stand. At the same time the database of one of bank branches was used. After debugging of the module of unloading on the example of one branch the bank passed to loading into Storage of primary booking data — personal accounts (today in a system there are about 150 thousand personal accounts), postings, payment documents — arriving from 29 bank branches.
On final project stage the staff of Intersoft Lab company carried out setup of the obligatory summary reports on RPBU using the data from bank branches loaded into Storage.

Project Results:

• In bank the financial Data warehouse is built and the technology of automatic collecting and the structured storage of primary data of accounting from branches is adjusted.
• At data loading in Storage automatic control of correctness and logical integrity of the data arriving from each branch is provided.
• Data on transactions of branches since the beginning of year are loaded into Storage.
• The issue of accounting reports as summary, and on branches is provided. The bank will release more than 20 report types. Besides, specialists of bank had an opportunity to create and send analytical reports, using OLAP technology.
  

Transition to work with Circuit Corporation Storage allowed multifilial bank to create a common information space, to simplify management of regional structures, to reduce terms of preparation of the obligatory summary reporting and to guarantee its correctness. If on preparation before the summary reporting several days left, then now this process takes only several hours.

Objectives

In the nearest future it is also going to provide for beta testing the program for design of mobile reports from the information systems "Circuit Designer of Cubes 2.0" and a system for release of mobile reports on the Intranet/the Internet, in the local area network and on the OLAPBrowser 2.2 Circuit PC.
Considering success of this project, the bank is going to continue cooperation with Intersoft Lab company. In particular, already in the current year it is going to expand significantly structure of information collected in Storage and to develop new types of analytical reports.
