The Social Fund of the Russian Federation buys 151 servers and software for ₽0,5 billion for cybersecurity

The Pension and Social Insurance Fund of Russia announced the purchase of 151 servers and related software for the development of the Information Security Event Management subsystem in the amount of ₽570 million. The equipment is designed to modernize the automated system "Technical Center for Information Security Monitoring," which ensures the protection of information resources of the department. The terms of reference for the electronic auction were published in mid-September 2025.
According to CNews, the acceptance of applications from potential suppliers will end on October 1, 2025, and the determination of the winner of the auction is scheduled for October 3. The initial maximum contract price is ₽570 million, but the total value may change during the auction. Procurement is carried out in accordance with a number of regulations, including Federal Law No. 236-FZ and Decree of the Government of Russia No. 451.
The technical specification provides for the delivery of server equipment of six different configurations, each of which is optimized for certain information security tasks. The first type of server includes seven units with two 20-core processors, providing a total of 280 processing cores. The amount of RAM for this group of servers is at least seven terabytes.
Servers of the second type in the amount of 19 units and the third type in the amount of 20 units are equipped with more powerful 32-core processors. The most productive group is represented by 39 fourth-type servers with 38-core processors and RAM over 15 terabytes. In addition, the purchase includes 65 servers of the fifth type with two 12-core processors and one high-performance server of the sixth type for solving especially difficult computing problems.[1]
