2023: Implementation of 1C:WMS
Korus Consulting has introduced 1C:WMS at the Ormatek raw materials warehouses. The system will help to build high-quality accounting, ensure transparency of warehouse processes and optimal cost of ownership, as well as convenience in support and development. Next, the solution will be scaled to 40 warehouses of the company. Korus Consulting announced this on December 1, 2023.
Experts studied the warehouse processes from the receipt of raw materials to the shipment of finished products, analyzed data on the movements of goods based on accounting documents and determined what improvements to the system will be required. Also, experts recorded the risks that business may have when working without industrial WMS. In addition, KORUS Consulting employees outlined areas for improving the efficiency of processes in the warehouse and defined the functional framework of the implementation project.
As a solution for the company, KORUS Consulting experts proposed a 1C:WMS system. It met key requirements: ease of maintenance and wide standard functionality, which allows you to quickly introduce new processes into the loop when changing business tasks.
When selecting a specific product, we not only take into account logistics tasks, but also analyze the entire IT landscape, business processes and the need for integration with existing systems. This allows us to recommend the best solution. For example, in the case of Ormatek, which already used '1C: Manufacturing Enterprise Management', it was logical to use an IT solution on the same platform. In addition, the client wanted to independently replicate the system by an internal team and not depend on the vendor. 1C:WMS gives such an opportunity thanks to the availability of qualified personnel on the market, - said Anton Okin, product expert, project curator at KORUS Consulting. |
The project includes the following stages: the implementation of 1C:WMS in the raw material warehouse and in the finished product warehouse. The specifics of each warehouse required a sequential system start-up in order to minimize the risks of reducing the number of shipments.
One of the tasks faced by KORUS Consulting specialists was to organize the identification of the nomenclature. They decided to do this using a unified bar coding, which will allow you to recognize the product both through the data collection terminal and when the storekeeper accepts/assembles manually. This approach helps to reduce the number of errors in the distribution of goods to cells and improves the quality of order processing.
The system has been adapted to the peculiarities of the processes associated with all materials that are used in the production of products. Experts have set up WMS to provide for the nuances of working with each type of raw material. Now in the warehouse "Ormatek" it is possible to more effectively manage the inventory and materials used in the production of products.
The introduction of WMS made it possible to digitize the quantitative indicators of the warehouse. Now, with the help of shipping documentation, managers can track what tasks each employee has time to do in a day. The data obtained help to plan the load efficiently and efficiently distribute tasks among the personnel. In addition, the use of WMS ensured the transparency of the contribution of each employee to the results of the warehouse: this is how the team can assess how its work affects the final indicators.
In the near future, Ormatek plans to launch the system at the finished product warehouse and replicate the solution to the rest of the company's warehouses. Thanks to the careful preparation and developed documentation, the scaling of the 1C:WMS will be prompt and without unnecessary modifications.
Cooperation with KORUS Consulting is not just the implementation of the system, it is a real deep immersion in our business processes. Colleagues conducted a thorough analysis of the tasks set, which made it possible to choose the optimal solution for our project - 1C:WMS. Now that the system is successfully working and demonstrating targets, we are convinced that this was the best choice, "said Evgeny Morozov, Logistics Director of Ormatek. |
2022: Warehouse automation with 1C:WMS
KORUS Consulting Group of Companies will help Ormatek to expand its production base, reduce the likelihood of errors in cargo handling and reduce the use of warehouse space. The 1C:WMS solution is planned to be connected for the distribution center and a large warehouse with an area of 43 thousand m ². KORUS Consulting Group announced this on December 7, 2022.
Ormatek appealed to KORUS Consulting with a request to automate warehouse technologies through the introduction of boxed WMS. IT specialists conducted a pre-design survey and formulated the risks that may arise when a new warehouse is put into operation. To minimize them and achieve positive changes in the customer's business processes, 1C:WMS was chosen. First, small sites will be connected to the solution, and then it will be replicated to a warehouse in Moscow and a complex in Ivanovo. This approach to the implementation of WMS will allow us to work out technological processes and reduce the volume of work and risks of production shutdowns when moving to a new facility and at the beginning of its use.
At the first stage of the project, experts will design the architecture, at the second stage, they will create a prototype system for demonstrating and evaluating its basic functions and modifications.
After the project is implemented, automation of processes in the warehouse can reduce the use of its area by 5% or more and save time on operations. The system will control the commodity replenishment mechanism, the movement of material containers, and monitor activities at data acquisition terminals. Personalizing employee operations and developing a motivation system can increase individual employee productivity by up to 30% and reduce the probability of processing errors by up to 90%.
"The solution will increase the transparency of logistics processes for internal and external customers of the company, improve the quality of warehouse processing and respond to demand spikes without changing service indicators. Ormatek will receive a productive and reliable warehouse management system, which assumes independence from the integrator. With the help of its own Competence Center, the client will be able to develop and replicate the solution independently. This will reduce the cost of owning the system, "said Evgeny Evdokimov, project curator, head of business consulting at KORUS Consulting Group. |
"Ormatek has already collaborated with KORUS Consulting Group of Companies in projects to optimize stocks of raw materials and materials. When choosing a company as an IT partner for the implementation of the 1C:WMS, we took into account its reliability and experience with this solution. Since this is the first experience of the project for the implementation of the external system for Ormatek, the expertise of the KORUS Consulting team is especially important for us: it manifests itself in the ability to see one step ahead, provide difficulties, act as a consultant and confidently set the vector of movement in the project, while maintaining flexibility and taking into account our doubts and questions. We hope that joint work with KORUS Consulting will bring us high results: the implementation of the project should reduce logistics costs and improve the quality of service, "commented Evgeny Morozov, Logistics Director of Ormatek. |
