File SDS service on HPE StoreVirtual in TKB Investment Partners

The TKB Investment Partners management company and Jet Infosystems company brought at the beginning of 2017 into operation otkazo-and a disaster-proof file cluster based on the program configured DWH (Software-Defined Storage, SDS) of HPE StoreVirtual VSA. Application of SDS allowed to execute implementation less than in 1 month and to save the project budget. Thanks to upgrade the recovery time of file service in case of failure was reduced from 15 minutes to 30 seconds.

The program configured cluster system replaced with itself the outdated solution which did not cope with the existing volume of tasks any more. For its creation virtual DWH of HPE StoreVirtual VSA, OC Microsoft Windows Server and Veritas Backup Exec backup system were used.

The file cluster covers two platforms of TKB Investment Partners located in several tens kilometers from each other. A system is unrolled based on already available for the customer of the equipment and the environment of virtualization that reduced project cost. The solution provides automatic backup of data and fast recovery of file service in case of failure.

"Disaster tolerance — our basic requirement to all processing systems and data storage. For specific service an important role was also played availability in mode 24х7 and obligatory automatic switching without data loss in case of failure of one or several components of a system. Experts of Jet Infosystems company proposed the solution which completely met all our requirements. In the pilot zone unrolled by integrator we checked its working capacity, estimated the level of availability of file service at failure of one or several components and were convinced of high rates otkazo-and disaster tolerance. Granted and access rights to directories and files are postponed from an old file cluster for new automatically using specially developed scenario. At the same time the requirement of continuous availability of file service is observed. System testing on fault tolerance was executed in time off according to the scenarios developed on the basis of experience of the customer and integrator. Check according to the results of the project and also the subsequent planned switchings of service in the course of commercial operation proved that the implemented solution completely conforms to all requirements of the customer.
