"TNS power Yaroslavl" completed license audit of products of Microsoft

On October 31, 2016 the ALAN IT company announced completion of reconciliation of the software of Microsoft in "TNS power Yaroslavl".

In 2015 the management of PJSC TNS energo Yaroslavl set the task about the next license reconciliation of the software of Microsoft.

Change as a part of IT heads was a basic reason of the project. The SAM project is the correct solution on assessment of IT assets which are received by the new head under the responsibility. Project Progress

According to given to inventory, as a part of IT infrastructure of PJSC TNS energo Yaroslavl 616 PCs, 1 client VM, 52 physical and 10 virtual servers operate.

Project Results

With project completion the customer received recommendations about updating of outdated software, about migration with Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2003/2000.

Specialists of the contractor recommended to PJSC TNS energo Yaroslavl to consider updating of a server framework on the basis of Microsoft Azure - according to them, it will allow to display the old equipment, to minimize expenses on acquisition of new and to provide fault tolerance of infrastructure.

In the company with the PC park more than 600 machines are recommended to use tools on management of IT assets for reduction of labor costs of employees therefore specialists ALAN IT recommended product introduction of a line of System Center.

During the project audit of a virtual environment and SQL servers by means of SAM SQL Workloads Engagement is booked. This project provides the analysis of a server environment, assessment of its status for optimization of use of Windows SQL Server. On analysis results of a server framework recommendations about settings of service SQL Server, about distribution of loadings, increasing the level of security of information and quality of operation of servers are created.

According to the results of the project the exact number of the PC and servers in real use is defined, the software list to updating is created, the detailed analysis of a virtual environment and databases is given. The list of licenses, necessary to purchase, is developed also the general recommendations of implementation and use of solutions, licenses for which are purchased within the current agreement Enterprise Agreement, are created.
