Tele2 provided M11 with 5G Ready communications

2021:100% motorway coverage

Tele2 on October 21, 2021 announced that it provided 100% coverage of the M-11 Neva motorway. Stable mobile Internet is available for 669 kilometers of the highway, which is critical for the safety and comfort of motorists. The company launched 100 additional 5G Ready stations on the highway. This allows the operator to provide high-quality LTE services and be technologically ready to launch fifth-generation services on the highway, which will be the first unmanned logistics corridor.

The traffic intensity on the highway is about 30,000 cars per day.

As a result of the project, Tele2 also radically improved the quality of communication in settlements lying near the highway, such as Sitno, Vysokoye Ostrov, Korpovo, Stegnovo, Novgorod Region and Georgievskoye, Leningrad Region.

The project was implemented at the facilities of the infrastructure operator Service Telecom. At the same time, the Tele2 network is built on 5G Ready equipment. The technology will allow in the future to quickly deploy coverage in the fifth generation standard. The operator's infrastructure will also become the basis for ensuring the safe operation of unmanned vehicles. By 2024, the Russian Ministry of Transport plans to implement the first unmanned logistics corridor in Russia on the M-11 highway.
