2020: Carrying out vote using the Polys system

The Football Union of Russia (FUR) took remote vote on a blockchain. For this purpose the organization uses the Polys system from Kaspersky Lab. It became known at the beginning of October, 2020.

About 160 delegates through the whole country at the same time took part in vote. Each voice was recorded directly in a blockchain that guarantees impossibility of substitution and correctness of accounting at calculation of results. Delegates and members of RFU could vote from any device — the computer, the notebook, the tablet or the smartphone.

The Football Union of Russia aims to be the most progressive and innovation sports federation. We conduct active work on implementation of digital products and solutions in the projects connected with soccer. The electronic voting system on Polys blockchain completely meets our requirements — Alexander Alayev, the secretary general of RFU says.

According to him, the blockchain provides safe process of receiving and data processing. Each delegate can be sure that nobody will steal his voice.

Alexander Alayev highlighted that vote during the conference of RFU with participation of delegates of Kamchatka to Kaliningrad for the first time last online. It is significant an event as for the union it is very important to observe, on the one hand, all necessary authorized procedures, and with another — to make process absolutely open that each participant could be sure that his voice is considered correctly and data cannot be forged, he added. Vote took place on October 2, 2020. Within the action there went a by-election to executive committee of RFU.

The project otlichitelen for Polys also the fact that vote is weighed, i.e. a system was used for collecting and counting of votes with different degree of the importance depending on the status voting. Each participant could check the fact that its voice was considered and also to see its weight.

It is noted that by the beginning of October, 2020 the blockchain system of Polys is a resident of the center of innovations of Kaspersky Lab. It is already used by the state institutes and private enterprises in a number of the countries of the world. Using Polys, in particular, elections to student councils to a RANEPA and Higher School of Economics, votes of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation and elections in the European youth Parliament of Germany in the period of a pandemic were held.
