The sea industry is faced by own tasks of digital transformation of business — from digital ports to control of vessels. We work in the conditions connected with need of interaction of the ships and coast. At the same time most of our employees works far from the coast. Increase in communication opportunities of our ships will allow us to synchronize data and more effectively to implement business challenges. We can guarantee that ship crews will be able to get convenient Internet access not only for the solution of business matters, but also for communication with family and friends and also for professional development — René Kofod-Olsen, the CEO of Topaz company emphasized. |
Maritime Connect
The Orange Maritime Connect platform includes support of a number of technologies and protocols of communication, such as satellite VSAT and L-Band terminals, mobile data transmission 3G/4G and also Wi-Fi. The platform distributes traffic depending on availability of the channel, providing optimal communication quality. It will allow Topaz company to integrate the ships into corporate network as full "sea offices" and to use on them applications, crucial for business.
At the same time, the management system for the fleet allows Topaz to exercise control of sea vessels and also provides valuable business data. For example, it includes dashboards using which it is possible to trace the ships which are deviating the set parameters on the speed or consumption of fuel, or faced problems in service.
Possibilities of the Orange Maritime Connect platform allow to optimize communication channels on the vessel floating in the sea. The customer can flexibly manage voice transmission, video and data in the conditions of limited capacity of the channel and bad weather conditions. The functions of information security integrated into the platform allow to protect it from different cyberthreats.
