Digital Design completed the project on planning of transition of OSK to use of domestic software

2020: Completion of planning of transition on domestic software

The Digital Design company announced on December 23, 2020 project completion on planning of transition of JSC OSK to primary use of domestic software.

In 2019 the OSK holding began works on planning of transition to the domestic software. The completed project allowed to pass from top level reference points of the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications to the action program based on inspection and practical testing of relevant solutions. As a result the IT strategy of JSC OSK was complemented with offers regarding the organization and project implementation for transition to primary use of the domestic software for each class software.

The OSK holding for December, 2020 includes about 40 design bureaus and research centers, shipyards and the enterprises based on which the most part of a domestic ship-building complex is consolidated. The OSK enterprises are located in all large port transport hubs of Russia where about 95 thousand people work.

As the contractor the Digital Design company was selected. At the first stage comprehensive examination of the existing infrastructure of JSC OSK was executed, the analysis of a condition of equipment and its compatibility with domestic software is carried out, the standard report form is developed for subsidiaries of OSK group which subsidiaries can use within execution of actions for import substitution.

Further functional classification of jobs and the analysis of freely extended software and software included in the unified register of the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications regarding applicability in IT infrastructure of "OSK" was carried out. Within this analysis in infrastructure of corporation in its territory the test polygon based on the system of virtualization of the Russian development was organized. Testing volume, in addition to business systems, included basic infrastructure services (service of the directory, network and file services, print service and so forth), the system of e-mail, office suites, the corporate messenger, the proxy server, a backup system and so forth the list of the software Was created from structure of OS and the register of the domestic software which is functionally replacing import analogs.

JSC OSK delivered tough time frames of execution of the project with high-quality waiting, – Dmitry Tsvetkov, the manager of projects of the direction of system integration of Digital Design comments. – The complex project included not only creation of documents, but, first of all, deep immersion in IT infrastructure of JSC OSK and its analysis. It became possible thanks to carrying out inspection and testing based on the existing customer's resources directly in the territory of corporation.

As a result of execution of works the existing IT strategy of JSC OSK was complemented with offers regarding the organization and project implementation for transition to primary use of the domestic software for each class software. Also the Road map including including, assessment of necessary financial resources for implementation of the tasks of transition set in JSC OSK on domestic was prepared and approved by software. The corporation plans works for December, 2020 directly on implementation, entered to the Road map for 2020 - 2022.

After release of the order of the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications we began planning of the big project in the direction of import substitution of software and together with Digital Design company already did a great job. The completed project allowed to pass from top level reference points of the Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications to the action program based on inspection of resources of JSC OSK and practical testing of relevant solutions. It will allow to start and implement a number of independent projects according to the developed Road map in the nearest future. Further experience is going to be extended to all group "OSK".
