On December 25, 2025, the authorities of the Moscow region announced the conclusion of a contract with the Serpukhov Elevator Plant (SLZ) to replace more than 4 thousand elevators of various lifting capacities in the region - from 400 to 1,000 kg. The transaction cost exceeded 8.5 billion rubles.
The press service of the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services of the region clarified that the contract was concluded between SLZ and the Moscow Region Overhaul Fund as part of the regional overhaul program in accordance with the standard for updating elevators with a service life of more than 25 years. The document is designed for the period until 2032 and has an offset character.
Vice-Governor of the Moscow Region Vladislav Murashov explained that "the offset contract involves counter investment obligations between the participants in the transaction." As part of this transaction, SLZ will invest 400 million rubles in modernizing its production and increasing capacity.
Murashov stressed that this form of agreement meets the interests of the region. It provides not only a high-quality renewal of the elevator fund in apartment buildings, but also the development of local production, as well as the preservation of jobs.
The press service of the SZL called this contract one of the most significant incentives for modernization since the enterprise became part of the Garden Ring Group of Companies. SLZ positions itself as a leader in innovation. In 2024, the plant, together with Artemy Lebedev's design studio, developed and launched the production of the first domestic intelligent elevator. In December 2025, the company began testing elevators with an energy recovery system that saves electricity.
According to the general director of SLZ Gennady Peregudov, in 2025 the plant has already launched the production of several innovative products. Among them are solid waste storage systems (MSW), belt elevators and backpack-type elevators. The company is actively introducing technologies based on artificial intelligence.[1]
