UBRIR started 3D-Secure technology

Since January 15, 2013 the Ural Bank for Reconstruction and Development (UBRIR) suggests the clients to use the most modern and effective technology for prevention of fraudulent activity and security of calculations on the Internet using bank cards – 3D-Secure. It is important that payment of goods and services online can be carried out according to all cards, including Visa Electron, Visa Unembossed and Maestro, on condition of existence on their reverse side of CVV2/CVC2 code. "This technology by means of the additional password representing a combination of alphanumeric characters allows to check legitimacy of operation of bank card payment on the Internet in real time", – the head of department of bank cards UBRIR Alexey Piskunov commented on an innovation. The password 3D-Secure is static and Telebank UBRIR can be set directly at the time of operation of payment of goods or services in the online stores using this technology (for convenience of users they place the Verified By Visa and MasterCard SecureCode logos on the starting or payment page), or using a system.

"The decision on increasing the level of security of transactions on the Internet is caused by promptly growing interest of clients in e-commerce and also increase in a share of the buyers paying the purchased Internet services and goods using bank plastic cards. According to a research of RBC.research "The Russian market of Internet trade: paid services of 2012" it grew from 31% in 2010 to 52.3% in 2012. And we want to make online shopping for holders of cards UBRIR not only convenient, but also the safest", – A. Piskunov noted.

By estimates of Bay.Ru service, the volume of the Russian e-commerce market in 2011 reached a point in 13 billion US dollars. Every next year, according to forecasts of the company, this volume will grow, having reached by 2014 25 billion dollars, and to 2015 - 30 billion dollars. Thus, the annual average index of growth of the market of e-commerce in Russia will make 21.37%.
