Federal State Unitary Enterprise Ural Carriage-Building Plant Production Association participated in the taking place recently Industrial forum of SAP. Within the forum Maria Kurashova, the project manager on implementation of the ERP system of SAP at the enterprise, shared information on the project course with TAdviser.

Prior to the beginning of the project at the enterprise the self-written separate systems which were supported approximately from 70th years were used and did not conform to modern requirements to management systems for the enterprises. In 2004 the management made the decision on need of complex automation and implementation of the modern ERP solution. During the held competition within a month practically all were considered by specially created group available at that time in the Russian market of automation systems – SAP, Oracle, Galaktika, Parus, 1C and others. The main criterion was the functional width of the solution, at the same time cost was not among it critical factors. As a result a choice was made for benefit of the mySAP ERP 2004 system.

The implementation project started in 2005 with assistance of Sterling Integration company (file). System learning was decided to begin with the module FI. Works on implementation were continued 5 months during which the functionality of the module "finance-accounting" was extended to formation and maintaining the uniform reference book of buyers and suppliers, the chart of accounts, reference book of banks, accounting of banking activities, including the automatic bank statement, accounting of settlings with partners, the analysis of receivables and payables on terms (the system of reminders), accounting of transactions in the Ledger on business accounts from the Chart of accounts, reporting on the VAT.

Own technique including sets of key indicators and their expert evaluation was developed for quantitative efficiency evaluation of the implemented solution at the enterprise.

Now the module FI of a system is in a stage of commercial operation. By a present situation in a system about 95% of heads and specialists of financial and accounting service of the enterprise work. Since January, 2007 modules of sale, logistics, accounting and maintaining economic agreements, blocks on fixed asset accounting, systematization and conducting the main records of materials will be brought into trial operation. The quantity of the automated jobs will be increased several times. as much as possible to involve the predetermined functionality of the ERP system in further plans of the company. The large-scale project should be implemented by 2010.
