Passes "The Ural locomotives" to the PDM, PLM and CAD systems from Siemens

On July 15, 2014 the Ural Lokomotiv LLC company announced complex transition of the design divisions to new versions of software solutions from Siemens PLM Software.

Project Tasks

The decision on use of the NX system at the Ural Lokomotiv enterprise for development of the electronic model of products and preparation of design documentation under control of Teamcenter is accepted in 2011 as a result of the careful analysis.

As the key factors which defined the choice of a PLM system on Ural Lokomotiv LLC are called a full compliance of software products of Siemens to the Russian ESKD standards, their wide circulation at the Russian enterprises and existence of the most competent implementation team of the PLM solution in the Russian Federation.

Project Progress

As a pilot project on Ural Lokomotiv LLC migration of the available electronic models of locomotive 2ES6 "Sinara" and 2ES10 Granit, developed in third-party software, on the Siemens PLM platform is executed. On the next stages the enterprise performed implementation of systems for accomplishment of engineering calculations, development of managing programs for CNC machines and management of-THESE and started development of an electric train Swallow.

Updating affects CADCAM//CAE-the system NX intended for the solution of design-technology tasks and conducting engineering calculations and also with PDM/ PLM- a system Teamcenter for product data management and processes.

Project Results

Use of products Siemens PLM helped to solve the important production problems facing the enterprise. Now the design structure of a product forms on the platform of modules NX under management Teamcenter and is automated is given for technology preparation of production. Work with the electronic model of a product in NX allows to work carefully construction of future product and to issue the design documentation connected with 3D models. Such approach allows to provide and avoid possible errors already at a design stage. Use of 3D models provides reduction of number of physical tests. The efficiency of the equipment for metal working increases thanks to an opportunity to develop and verify the managing program for CNC machines in virtual environment. This opportunity is completely provided by a system NX CAM.
