2022: Launch of educational module for students

On September 19, 2022, ProductStar Corporate Online University announced that in the summer of 2022 Uralsib Bank launched a corporate training program for students of secondary special and higher educational institutions. The program is built on the principle of a funnel: the passage of three main modules takes place in stages, and the results of each of them can be counted as a production practice in an educational institution.

Often, students have only common ideas about the operational processes of a modern bank. By launching a long-term program, we want to level the gap between theory and practice, to provide the bank with an influx of young specialists who will immediately be able to get involved in the work. We are interested in building a long-term relationship, so that after entering the program in the first year and successfully passing all its stages, the student, after defending his thesis, will be able to receive an invitation to one of the current vacancies.

explained Elena Pugacheva, Head of the Directorate for Automation of HR Processes and Brand Development of Uralsib Bank's Employer

At this stage, with the help of specialists from the online university ProductStar, the bank has prepared the first module of the program called "Banking." Its task is to give the course participants basic knowledge about the bank's system of work and the types of tasks within its framework. At the end of the module, based on the test results, career guidance and the choice of a narrow specialization will be carried out, taking into account the interests of students. Participants of this module can be students of the 1st-2nd year of universities or graduates of secondary special institutions.

In preparing the module, we turned to ProductStar, since the online university has experience in forming educational programs in the direction of product management. ProductStar's approach to information quality and how information is delivered has proved most relevant. It was important for us that the course turned out to be capacious, productive and interesting for students.

In preparing the training course, we used ProductStar's experience in creating corporate online schools and modern approaches, including practical training and blended learning (mixed class format). This allows students to combine basic education with additional and comfortable passage of the program. At the same time, everyone receives a sufficient amount of individual attention.

The first module of study was passed by about 100 students. As of September 2022, Uralsib Bank and ProductStar collect feedback from participants and update the course on the online platform. The development of the second special module of the program will be carried out jointly with leading Russian educational institutions, including the Higher School of Economics and RANEPA. The final third stage of the program will be the internship of students at the Bank.

The program funnel is arranged in such a way that those students who have already been trained on the platform will be invited to the internship after the first and second modules. They will have a complete idea of the specifics of the Bank's work, and it, in turn, about their successes and motivation. Moreover, many years of collaboration will allow trainees to be connected to projects where access to banking and commercial secrets is required. There is no way to attract interns from the market for such projects for security reasons.

Quarterly, about 200 vacancies are opened at Uralsib Bank, about a quarter of them in the field of IT and digital, and these are narrow specialties, which are usually hired by specialists of the middle and senior levels. When the program reaches full capacity, the company will be able to provide itself with trained junior-level specialists without turning to the resources of the external personnel market, and then help them in building a career within.
