Proofpoint Enterprise Protection for Email Security в ВГТРК

The All-Russia State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (VGTRK) and Jet Infosystems company announce project completion on security of e-mail based on the product Proofpoint Enterprise Protection for Email Security. The system of protection constructed by experts of Jet Infosystems company covers the central platform of VGTRK and 10 regional. In total it is over 5000 users. Further its scaling is planned for all representative offices of broadcasting company.

VGTRK is the largest media corporation of Russia having more than eighty regional representative offices in the territory of the Russian Federation. The specifics of work of VGTRK assume active use of e-mail for effective work of employees and the company in general. Therefore for broadcasting company the problem of security of corporate mail, including antivirus protection, spam control of the entering and outbound mail traffic has key value.

The Jet Infosystems company became the contractor of the project on protection of corporate mail of VGTRK, thanks to deep examination in the field of security of electronic communications. For protection of corporate mail of VGTRK including two diverse systems – Communigate Pro and MS Exchange 2010, selected the product Proofpoint. He successfully solves a problem of exact identification of spam, using hundreds of thousands of attributes for detection of undesirable messages, and moves the last to a quarantine. The Proofpoint Zero-Hour Anti-Virus add-on module which is a part of the implemented product identifies and blocks new computer viruses still before for them signatures are released. The cloud base of reputation of messages allows to provide effective protection of mail against spam without intervention in settings of a system even at emergence of new types spam mailings.

The project lasted 3 months. The examination conducted at its first stage revealed need of upgrade of the complex executing protection and filtering of mail traffic of VGTRK. Solving this problem, the project team deployed the redundant solution on two servers on which filtering systems of viruses and spam, a management system for a complex and the quarantine allowing to store undesirable messages up to three weeks are placed. Both servers were brought into operation in turn, and the general flow of the entering and outgoing messages broke into fragments and was transferred to servers step by step. This approach provided the continuity of transfer of mail traffic during project works. Start of each server was followed by testing of correctness of its functioning.
