VTB 24 creates a testing environment for banking products

The Technoserv company completed the project of creation of a test complex in VTB 24 bank, the press service of integrator reported on August 13, 2013.

Project Background

Purpose of a test complex - preliminary working off of changes which should be entered into the main operating information systems and the hardware of IT infrastructure of bank. Advance identification of errors will allow to correct them at early stages that will reduce the total finance costs by implementation of new products, will reduce terms of their output to the market. It is supposed that automation of procedures of creation test ^[1] will reduce the load of IT and business divisions connected with accomplishment of routine tasks of software testing.

One of key project tasks - preparation of the concept of test infrastructure in VTB 24 bank, then, together with Technoserv - wiring design of the organization of test environments and the principles of work of test circuits, business processes, regulations of the organization of testing. Then design and deployment of the hardware and software system corresponding to problems of conducting complex functional testing is carried out.

Project Progress

The project plans seven test circuits for accomplishment of tasks of testing of the hardware and software systems integrated and configured on interaction with each other. Each circuit as much as possible corresponds to the existing productive infrastructure and contains test environments of several tens key information systems of bank, in need of a circuit it is possible to connect the additional systems. At the moment from 6 to 30 test environments, on average are the share of each circuit. The modularity and universality of the developed solution will help the customer further the customer independently to develop and operate a complex.

The architecture of a complex actively uses virtualization mechanisms, it allows to adapt flexibly to requirements of the placed applications, to save computing and disk resources, it is essential to simplify and accelerate process of creation and updating of test environments.

In banking sector – both Russian, and world – there are no ready-made products such, but extensive world experience is accumulated (the TMForum Frameworx models: eTOM, SID, TAM) in the telecom industry. Technoserv has significant experiment of successful project implementations on creation of test environments for telecom operators and could adapt this experience for tasks and business processes of bank. Today it is the unique project, however, already now clear that similar products will be demanded not only banks, but also, for example, insurance companies or state agencies in the near future – any large organizations which work depends on smooth functioning of information systems", – Evgeny Zakrepin, the first deputy managing director of Technoserv integrator told.

"The new test complex already provided not only simplification of implementation of new releases of information systems of bank, but also acceleration of transition to their commercial operation. At a stage of implementation of a test complex we expect significant reduction of terms of preparation of test procedures, and then – and time of their accomplishment. We are going to pass to working off of process of the automated regression testing on a new complex in the 4th quarter 2013. Project implementation on complex automation of test environments by our calculations considerably will reduce terms of an output of new products of bank to the market and will allow to implement our strategic plans on large-scale implementation of the new IT platform", – Oleg Zaytsevsky, the associate director of department of banking and information technologies of VTB 24 noted.
