Valio was updated by ERP

CORUS Consulting and Valio carried out upgrade of the ERP system of Microsoft Dynamics AX to version 2012. The new powerful platform is designed to support production processes and distributions of the company in the conditions of business development in Russia.

Project Tasks

Before transition to Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 the Russian company Valio worked in the version of system 4.0 which ceased to be supported by vendor and had no capacity necessary for modern requirements of the company. The company management made the decision on transition to the latest version of the Microsoft platform which completely conformed to requirements of concern both in terms of power, and in terms of a covering of key processes.

Choosing a Solution

In 2007, considering ERP platforms for implementation, the management of Valio made a choice for benefit of Microsoft Dynamics AX thanks to functionality and flexibility of a system, its globality, reliability, and at the same time, optimal cost among solutions of this class. For years of successful work a system completely justified the confidence and expectations of specialists of Valio, having allowed the company to increase considerably volumes and business performance in Russia.

The tender for upgrade of a system was won by CORUS Consulting company thanks to brilliant examination in distribution and production and also to existence of the considerable practices and own solutions expanding functionality of Microsoft Dynamics AX.

Project Progress

Processes of distribution of the company are transferred to the new version of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012:

• purchase management,
• sales management,
• inventory management.

In the project of transition partners paid attention to process automation of import purchases and deliveries. According to specifics of activity of the company, the organization of processes of control of expiration dates, lot-based accounting, accounting of certificates was of great importance.

For management of cash flows in Valio company the solution "KORUS|Treasury" on the Microsoft Dynamics AX platform, providing synchronism of receipt and a funds expenditure, planning of the sequence and terms of commission of financial transactions is implemented.

One of key project objectives - the solution of an issue of integration the ERP system with a warehouse management system. The Valio company possesses own warehouse and also works with a large number of suppliers of external warehousing capacit who use different management systems. In a project deliverable the special model which can be used for integration of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 with the different WMS systems is implemented. Using the created model integration with own warehouse of concern, and one of external warehouses is made. The Valio company is going to apply this model and at integration with other warehouses.

The great value was represented by implementation and other integration processes – with the EDI system, the transport system of ANTOR, schedule system used in head company Valio for management of all merchandising of concern.

Project Results

In a project deliverable big changes were undergone by the pricing module. The former system of discounts was considerably expanded, the block of the reporting on the provided discounts is implemented. Also financial analysts whose amount in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 increased in comparison with the previous versions of a system limited in this area were significantly processed.

Since December 3, 2014 by Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 it is brought into commercial operation. In plans of Valio further development in the system of production processes. The company is going to increase production volumes in Russia and to expand product assortment of the Russian production.
