Victoria Group automated the new distribution center in Kaliningrad

The I2 CIS company completed implementation of Infor WM NG (EXceed WMS 4000) on the distribution center in Kaliningrad belonging to the Victoria group which is engaged in retail and distribution.

The Victoria group manages Kvartal retail networks, discounters "Cheap" and Victoria supermarkets which are located in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kaliningrad. The group has also own production, network of wholesale food warehouses and four distribution centers in Moscow and Kaliningrad allowing to supply quickly with goods the distributed sales points.

The large-scale project on optimization of logistic activity of the company was begun in 2005 and provides automation of all distribution centers of group. Its tasks include optimization of vendor relations, creation of infrastructure for support of fast-growing retail network, expense optimization.

Within implementation of this strategy activity of a warehouse of dry storage in Kaliningrad and a warehouse of perishable goods in Moscow was automated earlier. The present stage of the project covers all transactions of warehouse processing of goods in a new Kaliningrad warehouse of the company, including acceptance and accounting of weight goods, placement of goods, complete and partial replenishment, packing, a refolding, a complete set using RF technologies and a possibility of piece and boxed selection, selection of the substituting goods, cross docking, a cycle and complete inventory, detailed accounting and billing on types of goods. Besides, the functionality of a system on support of activity of 3PL-operators is involved.

According to the customer, using possibilities of a new system, it was succeeded to optimize routes of pickers and to increase performance of their work (now it corresponds to processing of 470 lines). Optimization of merchandising allowed to reduce unproductive costs for empty vehicle mileage, and more operational work of departments of supply in total with flexible and exact response to requests of shops provided the further growth of a goods turnover.

In plans of group - further development of logistic infrastructure and quality improvement and efficiency of supply of the growing retail chain stores using solutions on optimization of different business processes.
