2020: Warehouse Automation
The Vita pharmacy chain needed to automate the product warehouse in order to reduce the time for picking orders, selecting, replenishing the selection range, increase the speed of picking orders and shipping, optimize storage, automate accounting and reduce the time of inventory. This was announced on February 19, 2020 by InStock Technologies.
The implementation of the WMS InStock was carried out at the Vita warehouse according to the Easy Start methodology.
The product warehouse is equipped with front racks and a shelf mezzanine.
A feature of goods stored in the warehouse of goods is their heterogeneity. The warehouse stores weighing, measuring, piece goods, goods in rolls and bays. To account for them, different methods of commodity processing were required.
InStock WMS manages the placement of goods in storage areas, taking into account the categories of goods and the dimensions of pallets. Storage optimization further increases the rate of order selection.
The warehouse management system monitors the timely replenishment of selection areas, setting thresholds for the mezzanine and automatically creates hot replenishment tasks in the lower tier zone and if, when reserving goods, not all quantities of goods are available in the boxed piece selection zones.
After placing orders in the selection, the WMS InStock splits each order into selection jobs by zone and creates the optimal route for the selectors.
At Vita warehouse, inventory is also automated. Inventory jobs can be generated by the manager, or InStock WMS automatically creates tasks during warehouse work when discrepancies occur as a result of any business processes.
As a result of the introduction of the WMS InStock system in Vita warehouse, the speed and quality of acceptance increased, the accuracy of picking and preparation of goods for orders increased, the shipping error decreased to 100%, and the accuracy of accounting for warehouse balances increased to 100%.
