Optimizing logistics Volzhsky Pipe Plant implements GLONASS technologies

At Volzhsky Pipe Plant on September 21, 2012 started an implementation project of GLONASS technologies and creation of the complex navigation and information system with technology support of Viscort company. The product of implementation is CyberFleet.

Background

A system was projected from scratch "on a turn-key basis" according to needs of the metallurgical enterprise and features of functioning of the rolling stock. Thanks to technology flexibility in solving of tasks, delivered by the management of the enterprise, the difficult software package is created. At the heart of a system software integration of CyberFleet with cloud computing that provides remote access to the database for the purpose of entering of operational changes into the schedule and routes of vehicles.

Objectives

Within the project the GLONASS equipment supposes to equip the rolling stock of the enterprise transporting dangerous loads, and the passenger transport transporting employees of the plant. Until the end of the year, according to the first stage of the project, it is going to install the navigation and coherent equipment on vehicles and also to complete all balancing and commissioning connected with deployment of a software package at Volzhsky Pipe Plant. Since January 1, 2013 the final stage of the project starts.

Expectations

The complex navigation and information system at the enterprise will allow to optimize logistics of transport chains, to automate process of both long-term, and short-term planning, to strengthen control of safety and timely cargo delivery and also to perform purpose of route tasks on one or several vehicles manually or automatically on the set working schedule.
