About the Customer

The Vyatka state humanities university (VYATGGU) – one of three largest and known higher education institutions of the Kirov region. Activity of VyatGGU is aimed at development of education, sciences and cultures by carrying out scientific research and training of specialists in the field of the humanitarian, natural-science and physical and mathematical directions. The structure of the university integrates 15 faculties. Students on internal and correspondence forms of education over 12 thousand people.

Situation

At the time of creation of the project infrastructure of the University is provided as 4 big academic buildings of the university + library which are in different districts of the city, the number of servers about 30.

Constantly there are difficulties of their service and a problem with backup. The majority of works is carried out in the manual mode. System administrators instead of optimization of infrastructure are forced to spend the time for the software installation for each computer, for movement between the body for problem solving and on inefficient monitoring of servers.

  • Briefing of technical specialists of the Customer concerning operation of software of monitoring and management of Microsoft System Center on objects of informatization. Preparation of the document "Solution description".

Project Effect:

As a result currently in VyatGGU the complex performing two key activities of IT services – the order and software installation for jobs of users in an automatic or semi-automatic mode and Service desk for the organization of service of computers, liquidation of incidents and problems functions.

In the long term a system is going to be used also for creation of the reporting for the purpose of the permanent quarter and annual analysis allowing to understand what problems, in what area arise what incidents and problems prevail. Data of such analysis will allow to develop quicker and more effectively IT infrastructure of the university, and collection of information about incidents and problems will allow to solve all problems with advancing.

Staff of the university has an opportunity to use the internal website of self-service for placement of requests through it. Using this website it is going to automate deployment of a licensed software on client computers and to optimize technical support of jobs.

That the Customer received:

  • the single console for observation and management of workflows;
  • tracking of processes of monitoring, diagnostics and the reporting in heterogeneous operating environments;
  • management of physical, virtual and cloud environments, creation of reports on performance, availability and other indicators of resources;
  • verifiability of system requirements at the time of installation of applications;
  • different methods of detection of applications (to reinstall if it is deleted; uninstall if it is revealed);
  • management of updates of operating systems and products of Microsoft, third-party applications, drivers, BIOS and systems for different devices, including desktop PCs, notebooks, servers and mobile devices;
  • the single interface and approach on deployment of OS for servers and client devices;
  • remote connection to the user's device for the purpose of management of it;
  • the uniform tool for control of client computers;
  • automatic drawing up schedules of hardware and program inventory, scanning and installation of updates;
  • accounting of use of software and also accounting and control of software licenses;
  • application of scenarios of identification of use of the prohibited software;
  • possibility of forced recovery or and/or notifications at detection of deviations from a basic configuration;
  • possibility of control and assessment of a status of client workstations and their availability.

Specialists of the partner implemented all assigned tasks, performed necessary settings and integration of all servers.
