On October 23, 2018 Mail.Ru Group announced that Beeline implemented a single platform of communications with clients based on DBMS Tarantool

The single platform of communications will allow to optimize Beeline sending to subscribers of service messages. The developed Mail.Ru Group of Tarantool DBMS is used in all components of a system.

The single platform of communications makes the decision on what message and when to send to the subscriber Beeline: from informing on stay in a roaming zone pending notification about need to recharge. Subscribers will obtain all necessary information from the operator in the smaller number of notifications. Besides, EPK will give the chance to optimize work of IT specialists – they should not be engaged in configuring of the systems sending to subscribers of the message of different subject any more.

Key features of the platform are the work with a set of sources of events in the company, interaction with different communication channels (omnichannel), convenient setup of business rules of sending messages in the administrative user interface which is not requiring special training of employees. The platform allows to store all created and sent service messages within three years; the number of messages can be calculated by billions. Besides, the single platform has the high level of security, ensuring integrity and safety of user data.

Tarantool is applied in the Single platform of communications Beeline and as the server of queues, and as cluster high-available storage.

At the beginning of August, 2016 Mail.Ru Group reported that developed by their Tarantool DBMS company it begins to be implemented in VimpelCom (Beeline works under a brand) as the platform of online data processing.

Based on Tarantool for VimpelCom the virtualization platform of data and a number of applications according to business requests was developed. The company expects that use of Tarantool will allow to accelerate billing data access in tens of times, to improve interactivity of services for subscribers, including access to personal account and also to create for subscribers of the offer of different services and services depending on their personal profile of consumption.

VimpelCom - the first telecom client using Tarantool DBMS

Transition to Tarantool will accelerate work of the web interface of a personal account of subscribers and access to different services, including parental control and also will allow clients to learn quicker about the account status, to receive SMS notifications and to select rate parameters, - the director of information technology VimpelCom Vladimir Savkin noted. - Besides, thanks to the analysis of consumption by subscribers of the mobile Internet we will be able to create for them the most relevant offers on use of services and services.

Savkin added that the high processing speed of transactions and convenience of development of Tarantool will also allow the company to lower many times costs for purchase of servers and licenses and to reduce time for implementation of a number of new elements of functionality of data processing.

In VimpelCom told TAdviser that on the first project phase do not refuse the available DBMS and do not change logic of the existing products/applications.

Now data of less productive systems are cached, and further development of all show-windows and applications working with continuous data will happen to Tarantool use, - told TAdviser in the company.

Mail.Ru Group noted that many years use Tarantool on own projects, and VimpelCom became the first telecom client of this DBMS.
