2026: Completion of the First Phase of Machine Shop Machine Monitoring System Implementation

EVRAZ ZSMK completed the first stage of the implementation of the machine tool monitoring system in the mechanical workshop. The digital project allowed to increase the efficiency of the equipment by 15% due to the prompt analysis of data, reducing the time of overhauls and eliminating implicit losses. Evraz announced this on February 5, 2026.

At the beginning of February 2026, the work of the 40 busiest machines is being monitored. The system in real time collects and archives information about the operating modes of the equipment, the causes and duration of downtime, the load level. The implemented changes have greatly simplified the monitoring process, data is available to all employees through an intuitive interface.

At the second stage, it is planned to connect another 61 machines to the system. The workshop experience was interested in other engineering divisions of the plant, where digitalization will help reduce costs and optimize the use of resources.

The monitoring system allows you to see an objective picture of the state of equipment, personnel work, production efficiency and helps to comprehensively approach the implementation and planning of repairs. We can quickly analyze the main causes of downtime and make timely adjustments, "said Dmitry Stepanenko, head of the EVRAZ ZSMK mechanical workshop.
