2023: With the help of TestOps, large-scale manual testing and regular launch of autotests have been established

About the project

Wildberries TestOps In is actively used for manual. testings mobile client application About 22,000 test cases have been accumulated in the testing department, with a weekly regression of 8,000 cases.

At the same time, the company is working on an automation infrastructure, and a total of about 2,000 autotests per day are already launched for a mobile application. Tests are written in the development language (in XCUITest for Swift and Kaspresso for Kotlin) - a practice that we strongly welcome.

Implementation of TestOps

Before switching to TestOps, test cases of mobile applications for buyers were stored on both Excel pages and in a Tasktracker. The management of test cases as such has not yet been organized, so it was possible to consciously choose the best tool without looking back on past experience.

TestOps spoke in favor of a lot: pricing policy, reliability of access, and the prevalence of the Allure Report. Working with autotests was familiar and did not require additional changes to connect TMS.

Benefits of implementation

In Wildberries, TestOps performed well as a manual test management system. It turned out to be very convenient to organize test cases by user fields and tags, i.e. create different test case trees depending on the needs.

TestOps turned out to be useful not only for testers - it is regularly used by analysts, managers, and developers. The difficulties and inconveniences that arose in the work were quickly solved by the support of TestOps. In particular, she helped contact the internal authorization provider.

Of course, testers have wishes for changes and improvements to the system. But much of this has already been implemented or during the development process by the TestOps development team. For example, the command lacked exclusive filters for the test case tree - and version 5.19.0 introduced an exclusive operator (NOT) for filters. Another wish - the ability to use AQL for filters, and this capability is now in development.

Plans for the future

The priority of the Wildberries team is automation, and especially the seamless transition from manual tests to automated ones. The ability TestOps to store both types of tests in the same system is useful here, but for there is still a lot of work to be done to implement all the plans.

The guys who support us from TestOps will always help to disassemble the logs, tell us when the feature will be washed, what is not supported, and what, on the contrary, is supported, and show how exactly this happens,
