Williams Energy Canada selects software of ConstructSim Bentley as the tool for implementation of methodology of Advanced Work Packaging.

In January, 2016 the Bentley Systems company announced that the Williams Energy Canada company selected Bentley ConstructSim software for expanded use of working packets (AWP) (Advanced Work Packaging) from implementation of the first project of construction of installation of dehydrogenation of propane in Canada in the Province of Alberta. The decision Williams to select ConstructSim for this project was made after careful assessment of all leading instruments of automation of construction in the market.

Having made contrastive analysis, the Williams company came to a conclusion that ConstructSim better than other solutions sells the practice of working packets recommended by Institute of building industry (Construction Industry Institute) in the market.

"We consider that use of practice of working packets is one of the main conditions for successful project implementation in the field of propane dehydrogenation, – Andrew Foy, the responsible coordinator of Williams Energy Canada company commented, – therefore we also stopped the choice on ConstructSim. We with big optimism estimate perspectives of cooperation with Bentley and we expect their extensive experience of work with technology of working packets. We are going to involve possibilities of ConstructSim in this project in full. We implement ConstructSim for blueprint stage therefore all advantages of work with working packets will be available to us from the very beginning. It will give us the chance to accurately observe the works schedule. Practice of division of all project into working packets requires system approach and implementation of the best technologies at all stages of project lifecycle. It stimulates information exchange between designers, builders and customers, and working packets serve as convenient unit of information exchange. We will combine ConstructSim with other construction programs. Thus, thanks to mobility of information you will be able to see the works both planned, and already performed. It significantly increases discipline of implementation of the project."

Williams Energy Canada will design and will construct installation of dehydrogenation of propane in the District of Stratkona of the Province of Alberta. The project will strengthen a role of the pipeline industry of the West of Canada. Installation will process cheap propane and to produce 500,000 metric tons of propylene of a polymeric sort, the petrochemical raw materials used in production of plastic. Unit for dehydrogenation of propane is an and economic diversification of the region, and inflow of industrial innovations. It is going to integrate the project of installation with the oil processing capacities of Industrial Heartland which are already existing in the region.

The planned date of start of installation – the end of 2019.
