Project Description
X5 Retail Group selected Red Tree company the consultant for development of the new corporate standard of the organization of warehouse business processes of the company. Within this task the project on business process optimization and implementation of the new corporate standard on the distribution center of Paveltsevo in the Moscow region was successfully complete. Start of the Solution was made in November, 2008.
Tasks
The distribution center of 16.000 sq.m of Paveltsevo has the camera for work with the cooled goods, gravitational racks for work with melkogabaritny goods, stuffed racks for work with supplies, a zone of selection of elite alcohol where the complete set is performed from all tiers, the extensive storage area of orders, ready to shipment. On average the warehouse processes in day orders from 160 shops, being the main center of supply with alcoholic products of shops of Perekryostok and Pyatyorochka networks.
For an object of such complexity the project was successfully executed in extremely short time - 3.5 months. In addition to terms, start time in commercial operation – November when it was necessary to pass peak load on the Distribution center at start of a new solution became one more feature of the project. These circumstances imposed increased requirements to works within the project: efficiency and high accuracy of the made decisions, minimization of all possible risks in the course of start in operation, coordination of work of the project team consisting of professionals in the field of IT and Logistics of X5 Retail Group company and experts of Red Tree.
Implementation Progress
Within the project the following processes were implemented and included in the corporate standard: cross docking, work with alcoholic products, shipment of goods under control of a system. The functionality of placement of the ready orders completed a pallet in the storage area according to settings of strategy of placement of loading units (taking into account the client, the volume of cells and so forth), markings outgoing completed a pallet for implementation of besproschetny technology at goods acceptance in shops is implemented.
The new solution architecture meeting the most modern requirements was developed: to high-speed performance, data exchange between the accounting system and a warehouse management system.
According to company management of X5 Retail Group, the implemented project and further replication of the developed corporate standard will allow to increase significantly quality of business processes on Distribution centers of the company. Will be of great importance in the conditions of a crisis situation in the market carried out optimization and, as a result, cost reduction on warehouse processing of goods.
For the operational and qualitative solution of a business challenge of the company the project team of Red Tree was mentioned by the management of X5 Retail Group of the diploma "For Successful Implementation of WMS EXceed on RTs Paveltsevo in 2008".
