Content

The Russian retailer X5 Retail Group NV for the purpose of increase in efficiency of merchandising and increase in revenue will use the solutions JDA.

Planning

It is supposed what X5 will use a solution package JDA for category management, including modules JDA Planogram Generator JDA Space Planning, JDA Space Automation and JDA Intactix Knowledge Base.

At the Beginning

Within a pilot project of X5 the JDA company showed possibilities of the solution, including functionality which helps retailers to receive the maximum return from management of an assortment matrix and a competent design of the premises and the shelf areas. All this is reached due to simplification of search of the necessary goods for buyers, providing the most profitable calculation for the most highly profitable products and optimization of warehouse stocks in order to avoid shortage or a surplus of goods in shops.

"After detailed assessment of the different systems we came to a conclusion that the solutions JDA for category management could increase considerably efficiency of sales on that number of product categories on which we tested, – Teymur Shternlib, the deputy chief executive officer for support of business, X5 Retail Group told. – When comparing indicators on these product categories in five shops where were tested the solutions JDA, with indicators in control shops of advantage were obvious. As a result we made the decision to use the JDA system allowing to estimate efficiency of floor spaces and to provide a possibility of intellectual management of these areas for optimization of sales and increase in profitability in all shops of our network".
