2021: Kite-like PNI-NPN Launch 5GtoB
On March 1, 2021, Xinyan Coal Mine, Shanxi Mobile and Huawei jointly introduced the Kite-like 5GtoB solution for private networks integrated with public networks (PNI-NPN, Public Network Integrated Non-Public Networks). The goal of this project is to accelerate the development of the 5G industry and increase the value of 5G networks for business, which ultimately becomes the impetus for the growth of the digital economy.
As explained, in 2020, Xinyan Coal Mine began to use 5G communication technologies with the support of Shanxi Mobile and Huawei. In November of the same 2020, the coal mining enterprise was one of the first in the country to implement pilot projects of smart mines. 5G technologies are used at all key stages of production. Therefore, ensuring the normal operation of the production system of the enterprise in the event of large-scale network failures is a serious task.
The Kite-like solution ("like a kite") 5GtoB Huawei allows you to solve this problem by converting operator networks into a PNI-NPN configuration. To ensure reliability in this configuration, the central node interacts with the edge node "kite start" using dedicated lines. If an enterprise network (NPN) is disconnected from the central network, services can automatically switch to the network disaster recovery management plane of the private network. It was this solution that was tested at Xinyan Coal Mine.
The disaster management network deploys to the enterprise and synchronizes data with the central network in real time. When disconnected from the central network, the local network takes over the implementation of production services and ensures the normal operation of the main systems.
The combination of providing edge services, automatic configuration, single-click deployment, and 2-hour uninterrupted provisioning optimizes service delivery efficiency.
The S, M, and L layers meet various private network security requirements. Level S refers to small private networks that are used by the enterprise together with the operator network. M and L layers have increased isolation and ensure that data is not transferred outside the enterprise in Multi Access Computing (MES) scenarios, which allows companies to eliminate data security problems.
5GtoB technology is already being used for commercial purposes, accelerating digital transformation in various industries.
