Yenisei River Steamship Lines carried out updating of the version of a MRO

Yenisei River Steamship Lines will connect all the ship-repair divisions to the information management system the technical operation and ship repairs constructed based on the product TRIM developed by Spectec company. Primary implementation of industry solution based on TRIM began in February, 2005 and was executed jointly by specialists of Spectec and Yenisei River Steamship Lines.

65 jobs at the central office and on the Podtyosovsky repair and operational base remote from it on 500 kilometers were as a result automated and also the database on a shipboard equipment and repair sheets of 74 standard courts of the company is created. Within the current expansion of a system the Krasnoyarsk ship-repair center and Ermolayevsky repair and operational base will be automated. The shipping company purchased the additional software licenses TRIM (on 30 jobs for the ship-repair center, and on 7 jobs for Ermolayevskoy RAB), and the Spectec company developed the project documentation.

Implementation will be performed by the working group of the customer which got experience of implementation of TRIM at the previous stage of the project. The project assumes automation of routine maintenance of courts, major repairs of courts and the equipment, medium, running, navigation and abnormal repairs, hardware upgrades, maintenance inspections, internal and external checks and inspection of courts. Besides, specialists of shipping company will add information on 150 units of the fleet to the database. Project completion is planned for the fourth quarter 2006.

Project Development

On April 28, 2014 NPP Spectec announced the translation of the information management system maintenance and repairs of JSC Yenisei River Steamship Lines on the version of TRIM 3.9.3.

The information management system maintenance and repairs (MRO ISU) in JSC Yenisei River Steamship Lines is in operation since October, 2005.

A system is installed as at the central office of shipping company, so in and the divisions remote from office on distance up to 500 kilometers – in the Krasnoyarsk ship-repair center, the Ermolayevsky and Podtesovsky repair and operational bases (ROB). In composition more than 100 users performing activities for planning, providing, accomplishment and the analysis of a MRO for 500 courts of shipping company. It is integrated with a corporate system on the basis of "1C: Manufacturing Enterprise Management" regarding inventory accounting, the movement and use of spare parts and materials, supply under repairs.

The shipping company used the version of TRIM 3.8.4 as a software platform of ISU of a MRO. In December, 2013 works on transfer of ISU of a MRO to the version of TRIM 3.9.3 are begun. Desire of users to use the opportunities available only in the new version, and allowing to increase effective management of processes of a MRO became a basic reason of these works.

The project of migration on the new version of TRIM was executed by a team of specialists of the NPP Spectec company which acted as the contractor and software provider. It was required to transfer to the new version all settings and data which are saved up in MRO ISU for years of its operation without having broken work of users.

A number of factors complicated problems of a project team:

• versions 3.8.4 and 3.9.3 separate years of technology development of TRIM. The new version differs from old in existence of three-level architecture, other component base of a core. The functionality of TRIM also considerably extended,
• the operated system has a distributed database (DB). She turns on, in addition to the central DB, also the local DB set on REB. It requires correct data migration of all used DB, with history logging of their synchronization.

Migration on the new version was carried out according to the methodology developed for the project. Made and approved the work plan and design specifications – on a DB, on upgrade of information infrastructure of the customer and the module of integration into "1C: Manufacturing Enterprise Management". The contractor on the servers carried out prototyping of a system in the current and new version of TRIM. Retraining of system administrators in shipping company, including administrators of remote nodes on REB is carried out. The system exercise machine which provides a continual loop of preparation and retraining of users directly at the customer is upgraded. The converter of data providing integration of ISU of a MRO with the system of accounting, inventory and financial accounting of shipping company is finished. Instructions of users are processed.

At the final stage of works the project team started setup and system testing directly in shipping company. Upgrade and cleaning of the MRO ISU database is carried out. In March, 2014 a system is transferred to the operation mode in the new version of TRIM.
