2021: Lyve Cloud

Seagate Technology Holdings on September 1, 2021 announced an agreement with Zoom, thanks to which it will soon be possible to use the Lyve Cloud service to save recordings of video communication sessions.

Zoom users who recorded the conference will be offered the opportunity to save the record on the Seagate platform provided as a service.

Lyve Cloud, a continuously available solution for storing arrays of data in the cloud and on the periphery, is designed to eliminate storage problems, including unpredictable costs and the difficulty of storing, moving, and using large amounts of data.

Our customers need the ability to securely store and easily share conference records, "said Velchami Sankarlingam, President of Zoom for Engineering and Products. - Given the size of the conferences that Zoom serves and the variety of user needs, we need cloud storage with optimal total cost of ownership. We chose Lyve Cloud because this service provides the required quality.

{{quote 'We have simplified and made predictable the budget for this cloud service regardless of the volume of conferences recorded and the number of views, "said Ravi Naik, executive vice president of storage services and chief executive officer of information technology Seagate. - Lyve Cloud does not have a usage fee API and service waiver fee, and because storage is always available, Zoom users will be able to view their records anytime they need it. }}

The deal between Seagate and Zoom is concluded for a period of several years. Under its terms, Zoom will be provided with a cloud whose data center is located in Silicon Valley, but in the future options for providing this cloud service in other regions are also possible.
