Costs
In 2010 the Russian business media noted that the Sochi Olympic Games will become the most expensive in the history. At that time expenses of Russia on preparation for Games were estimated at 950 billion rubles.
Russia for January 1, 2013 spent 1.136 trillion rubles for preparation for the Winter Olympic Games of 2014 in Sochi. RIA Novosti with reference to materials for a meeting of state commission on preparation of Games reports about it. In total for preparations for the Olympic Games it is going to spend 1.526 trillion rubles.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak, as of the beginning of 2013 of costs for Olympic venues and infrastructure made 200 billion rubles which were received from the federal budget and from investors in the ratio about 50 on 50.
500 billion more rubles were spent for development of Sochi and the city infrastructure which is not connected directly with Games. As Kozak specified, two thirds of this amount went to transport infrastructure[1].
