2025: Wet pet food plant launched in Mordovia for $ ₽5 billion

The Talina Group of Companies has put into operation the production of wet pet foods with an investment of ₽5,094 billion and a design capacity of 80 thousand tons of products per year, which will allow the release of new import-substituting products by the end of 2025 and increase the number of jobs at the enterprise in Mordovia. The plant was launched within the framework of the Good Owner - Ruzayevka LLC enterprise, which is part of the management perimeter of the Talina Group of Companies. This was announced by Marina Markina, General Director of Talina Group of Companies, on September 18, 2025.

According to TASS, Talina is steadily increasing its presence in the pet food market, creating products to fully replace foreign counterparts. In 2025, the company launched the production of several new lines of wet rations for cats in order to fully meet the requirements of pet owners.

A plant for the production of wet pet food was launched in Mordovia for ₽5 billion

Markina noted a significant expansion of production capacity due to large-scale investments in new equipment and technological lines. The production base of wet feed provides an annual capacity of 80 thousand tons of finished products of various types and categories.

The development of animal feed production contributes to the creation of new jobs in the region. In 2024, 1540 jobs appeared in Mordovia, a third of which falls on the direction of production of pet food.

The dynamics of employment demonstrates acceleration: in just eight months of 2025, 1,565 jobs were created. The expansion of the staff is associated with an increase in production volumes and the development of new technological processes.

Talina also invested about ₽2 billion in dry feed production, which began in 2024. The new line of dry feed provides a production volume of 50 thousand tons annually, complementing the range of products for animals.[1]

2024: Launch of a sausage factory in Mordovia

On March 5, 2024, an official launch of a sausage factory took place in Mordovia, in which about 2 billion rubles were invested. This is a project of the Talina group.

As the head of the Republic of Mordovia Artem Zdunov wrote in his Telegram channel, the capacity of the factory that opened in Ruzayevka is 12 thousand tons of products per year. The company has created about 800 workplaces. According to Zdunov, this is a unique plant, it is one of the largest producers of meat snacks (chips, whips, mini sausages) in Russia. This is a project about healthy, proper nutrition, this is a culture of nutrition, including for children, he stressed.

We are successfully developing the direction - Mordovia is already able to produce more than 90 thousand tons of feed annually. Next year [2025 - approx. He also noted that the region still has 5 new projects ahead for 13.5 billion rubles. Among them are a plant for wet feed for animals, a selection and genetic center and one of the largest feed mills in the Volga region.

According to the founder of the Talin Group of Companies Viktor Biryukov, meat snacks that began to be produced at a new plant in Mordovia will become alternative potato chips. This product will change the culture of consumption towards a healthy meat snack, Biryukov said, adding that the next task of the group is to create a food cluster.

Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in the grand opening of the Talina plant in Ruzayevki. He stressed that "Mordovia is developing at a good pace," the region "manages to find and support promising projects."[2]
