On February 6, 2018 PTC announced the conclusion of the partnership agreement of page Microsoft. 2017: Connector Ansys
In June, 2017 PTC also ANSYS presented the solution which will allow to add results of engineering calculations of ANSYS to the applications created on the PTC platform for Industrial Internet of Things ThingWorx. Development of the connector between these two technical engineering platforms will allow customers to transfer and use calculation results at operation of physical products in the real world of things. The connector will help to compare intellectual final and element models with physical products throughout lifecycle and to operate with results in the real world. It will open for engineers and developers of an opportunity for entering of valuable additions into the work at the expense of more flexible modes of operation of a product, correction of the mode of maintenance and also data integration about verification of mathematical models into process of final and element modeling.
Modeling helps the companies to analyze situations which can happen to products in the future – for example, failures in work – already at a design stage. If access to extensive historical data on operation of products is limited, the companies can use final and element models only for an expected set of the expected restrictions and loads of a product ("thing"). 2016: ThingWorx 7
On June 2, 2016 the PTC company announced an exit of release of ThingWorx of version 7.

Two main components of the ThingWorx platform

Authentication and authorization
ThingWorx supports HTTP-authentication — via the web interface with indication of pair the login password. Support of security of the transport layer (TLS, Transport Layer Security)
ThingWorx follows practical methods of the industry and uses only the TLS protocol instead of unsafe SSL. Clients of the Web server are recommended to use the standard HTTPS communications protocol (with the SSL protocol) that all data transferred on hardwired connection were protected. The communications protocol of the Edge MicroServer components at connection to the server is the standard industry WebSocket protocol (RFC 6455) working over the safe cryptographic TLS protocol. The Edge MicroServer components also support the HTTPS protocol.
Additional safety features
In addition to TLS enciphering all files transferred between the boundary device and the platform in both directions are ciphered before transfer and decrypted after receiving. For check that the file was transferred completely and without failures and also was not distorted intentionally, the MD5 hash is calculated it.

Integration of PTC ThingWorx and Axeda into Salesforce Analytics Cloud
On October 13, 2014 it became known of integration of PTC ThingWorx and Axeda with Salesforce Analytics Cloud. The purpose of developers - to provide the customers tools of visual analytics using the data obtained from the intellectual, interconnected systems.
Continuing to implement the strategy of Internet of Things (loT), accelerating an output to the market of the intellectual, interconnected products, the PTC company announced accession to an ecosystem of Salesforce Analytics Cloud.
PTC will combine PTC ThingWorx and PTC Axeda Machine Cloud technologies for expansion of opportunities Wave, providing access to stream data transmission from the intellectual, interconnected products. Such integration will allow customers of PTC and Salesforce to browse the generated data in a unified environment.
