Chukotka Autonomous Okrug

The Chukotka Autonomous Okrug is a constituent entity of the Russian Federation, part of the Far Eastern Federal District, the area is 721.5 thousand km ². It was established on December 10, 1930, has the status of an independent subject since June 17, 1992 (the status was confirmed in 1993 by the decision of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation).
