As of March 2019, the Chukotka District Hospital GBUZ (GBUZ ChOB) is the main center for the provision of specialized medical care in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. The main medical personnel are concentrated here, patients from all over the region come here.

2024: Mishustin allocated 47 million rubles for the purchase of ventilators, ultrasound, ECG and EEG

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed an order to allocate 47 million rubles for the purchase of medical equipment for the Chukotka District Hospital and its branches. The corresponding document was published on February 5, 2024.

As part of the allocated funding, at least 18 units of medical devices will be purchased for retrofitting obstetric and resuscitation departments of the medical institution. In particular, the need for ventilators, ultrasound, ECG and EEG will be closed.

According to the press service of the Cabinet, the retrofitting of the hospital will improve the quality and availability of medical care for pregnant women and newborn children in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug. The funds for this will come from the reserve fund of the Government of the Russian Federation.

Speaking about the decision at a meeting with Deputy Prime Ministers on February 5, 2024, Mikhail Mishustin noted that the Chukotka District Hospital needs modern medical products to provide high-tech assistance even in the most difficult cases. Also, the head of government instructed Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova to monitor the issue of attaching the district to the perinatal center in Khabarovsk, so that, if necessary, patients are promptly sent there to receive qualified treatment.

By February 2024, the Chukotka District Hospital includes district, district and district hospitals, as well as clinics, medical outpatient clinics and women's consultations. In early January 2024, during his first official visit to Chukotka, Russian President Vladimir Putin promised to establish close cooperation with the perinatal centers of large cities in the Far East, as states the head was asked by obstetrician-gynecologist Maria Orosova.
