2020: Russia entered in top-20 the countries with the best ecosystems for startups

At the end of May, 2020 it became known that Russia entered in top-20 the countries with the best ecosystems for startups according to StartupBlink company which conducts every year the research estimating the states and the cities on performance, investments, features of the market, level of communication and other criteria.

First place in the list was won by the USA. Great Britain and Israel were located with a trace, and Russia was given the 17th place. In comparison with 2019 the Russian Federation lost two positions.

Moscow took the ninth place in the rating of the ecosystems which are most developed in the world for startups, in a year having risen by one position, and in comparison with the 2017th — by five.^[1]

Authors of a research selected a number of competitive advantages of the Moscow ecosystem for startups. Their number included the Moscow Innovation Cluster (MIC) — the platform for interaction of the technology companies, large corporations, scientific and educational organizations which integrated more than four thousand participants. Experts were also positive for the MIK joint project and Agencies of innovations of Moscow on development and scaling of startups "Moscow accelerator". It was separately mentioned that high positions of the capital in rating were affected by development of networks of co-workings.

According to experts of StartupBlink, Moscow has special potential in development of artificial intelligence and Big Data and also in issues of interaction of high technologies and creative industries.

Moscow a startup ecosystem surprised us. In the city the outstanding number of talented specialists in the field of technologies. The agency of innovations of Moscow does everything possible to show it to the world. Many countries meet geopolitical difficulties, but, to honor of architects of the Moscow ecosystem of innovations, they do not cease to connect the high-tech solutions to a global context — originators of rating noted.
