Strategy for the development of additive technologies in Russia

2021: Mishustin approved a strategy for the development of 3D printing technologies

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin in mid-July 2021 approved a strategy for additive technologies for the period until 2030. According to the press service of the Cabinet, the main priorities outlined in the document were the strengthening of scientific and personnel potential, the improvement of the regulatory framework, and the activation of import substitution processes.

The strategy focuses on key technologies needed to form a competitive industry. Among them are the printing of biological tissues, high-precision objects for the aerospace and nuclear industries, elements of residential buildings. To implement the relevant projects, it is necessary to establish serial production of 3D printing equipment, components and materials used in production.

The most important sectoral projects, as indicated in the document, will be provided with state support. In addition, the formation of a new industry will require the adoption of modern standards and regulations, emphasized on the website of the Cabinet. At the same time, it is necessary to minimize regulatory and organizational barriers that hinder the development of exports and cooperation.

It is expected that the implementation of the strategy will increase the volume of the Russian market of additive technologies by more than three times and will become an additional incentive for the innovative development of the domestic economy.
