2024: Ekaterina Varnava, Khabib Nurmagomedov and Andrey Makarevich own real estate in the Gonio area

In April 2024, it became known that the ex-member of Comedy Woman Ekaterina Barnabas officially became the owner of foreign real estate. The star acquired a residence in the resort area of ​ ​ Batumi - Gonio, on the fifth floor of the 20-story Aqua Hotel.

Barnabas paid 170 thousand dollars for this property, which is equivalent to more than 15 million rubles. It is unclear whether the showbiz star intends to reside in the residence or sees it as an investment.

In the Gonio complex, other famous personalities have real estate - UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and musician Andrei Makarevich (recognized as a foreign agent in Russia).

2016: Climate Monitoring System Implementation Plan

In the fall of 2016, it became known that in Georgian Batumi it is planned to introduce a "smart city" system, which will monitor the climatic state in the city and make recommendations in cases of worsening weather conditions^[1].

Batumi will become one of the first "smart cities" in the world, in which, using the climate monitoring system, it will be possible to plan the architectural development of the city, predict the risk of natural disasters, improve the tourist infrastructure of the city, inform drivers about changes in the road situation due to weather conditions, as well as develop the agro-industrial sector.

Seven synoptic automatic control centers have already been installed in Batumi and its environs. It is they who will accumulate the entire range of weather data and form various forecasts, as well as through a specially developed warning system for services and district administrations to inform about the approaching meteorological danger.

The city authorities are implementing this project in conjunction with the non-profit organization Your Forest.
